Stepping Out of Shadows

They hide their skills behind a wall so gray,
Holding back their gifts day after day.
Letting others have the spotlight’s glow,
While they stay hidden, working down below.
They help make others’ big success come true,
Doing just enough, but nothing new.
Content to serve without much praise or fame,
Never stepping forward to stake their claim.
The bright lights feel too much for them to bear,
They find their peace when no one knows they’re there.
Their talents wrapped in layers, tucked away,
Their brilliance hidden from the light of day.
But wisdom found them just the other week,
A truth they heard that made their future speak:
"Why dim your light so others won’t feel small?
Your hiding helps no one, not you, not all..."

"Enough!!!," they said as morning light broke through,
"These chains of playing small are now cut too.
No more will they make themselves shrink to fit
In tiny spaces where they don’t belong a bit."
So watch them rise as they begin to grow,
Coming from the dark with skills to show.
Their gifts no longer kept locked up inside,
The world now sees what they no longer hide.
This truth rings out for everyone to hear:
Don’t make yourself small just to keep peace near.
For those who might feel shadow in your light.
Your brightness helps the world shine just right.
So, let’s Shine Bright...
